“John has helped me evolve from an “old school” gym rat focused on bench press and curls, to a guy who understands the value and power of a perfectly executed, simple push-up…”

Joe BrubakerI am in my mid-fifties (okay, I’m 57!), and I have been in and out of gyms all my life, with some lengthy absences spaced within that time. I came to personal training with a “well, it can’t hurt” attitude, and, I admit, a bit of embarrassment about this being an over-the-top luxury that I wouldn’t need to indulge in if I had an ounce of gumption. Well, one thing is true, it is a luxury…but it is an experience that has fundamentally changed my attitude toward fitness and the way I use my body everyday.

I think one of John’s strengths is that he continually links gym work to everyday activities. He also has an uncanny ability to assess one’s body strengths and weaknesses, and to target those areas, and then to seamlessly “ramp up” the exercise intensity as the body and attitude allow.

John is unfailingly professional, never fails to accurately explain in layman’s terms what a particular exercise is all about, and he does this all with warmth and a good natured sensibility. Not once in over a year of working with John did I ever sense that he was not fully engaged in our session, and sincerely interested in my progress. He has helped me evolve from an “old school” gym rat focused on bench press and curls, to a guy who understands the value and power of a perfectly executed, simple push-up.

John is now working with my wife’s fitness evolution, and I smile knowingly when she comes home with a “Johnism” …unfortunately, I’ve been there.
