Fads Come and Go; Supportive Nutrition Lasts Forever!

Lose 20 pounds in two days. Eat as much as you want and shed the pounds. Consume only pink foods to see that waistline melt away. Chow down endless amounts of cabbage soup to burn your fat away.

The claims of some fad diets do sound a bit ridiculous, but that doesn’t necessarily reduce their appeal. When there’s a desire to lose weight, the fastest, easiest methods can be rather attractive wouldn’t you say? While some fad diets can help people drop weight quickly, the reality is the weight lost doesn’t generally stay off. It’s also likely that the methods employed to produce rapid weight loss might compromise your health.

So, what’s the best way to lose weight safely and intelligently?

No matter what fad diets are popular in the now, there is advice that remains constant. This advice is fundamental because of the simple fact that it works and will lead you towards a life of fulfillment and the results you really desire.

Here are the three main ingredients for safe, healthy weight loss:

Eat Smarter

Proper diet is critical for weight loss and maintaining any loss that’s enjoyed. A proper diet, however, doesn’t mean having to go on one. Rather than make major alterations to eating habits for a few weeks to drop pounds quickly, it’s smarter to simply make wiser choices all the time and incorporate better eating into the daily routine.

Some tips for this include:

  • Eating smaller meals will allow for fat burning – Three big meals a day when weight loss is the plan may not serve you. Instead, opt for smaller, more consistent meals. Be sure not to skip eating because you think it will enhance your weight loss. There is a fine line between fasting to enhance weight loss and starving yourself!
  • Making healthier choices – Pick grilled foods instead of fried. Consider lean meats instead of fattier ones. Consume a wide array of vegetables especially cruciferous vegetables (cancer fighting vegetables).  Just make better choices throughout the day to help stabilize your blood sugar and enhance your fat burning.
  • Selecting the right portion size – Consider taking smaller portions or leaving some on the plate for another meal.  Remember that a serving of meat is the same size as the palm of your hand. Eat slowly and allow your stomach to feel the effects of your meal which usually takes about 20 minutes.
  • Picking healthier snacks – There’s nothing wrong with snacking when you’re hungry but choose nutritionally dense snacks.  Smart substitutions can make all the difference and don’t fear good fats like nuts, seeds, and avocadoes. Instead of junk food like chips, grab some unbuttered air-popped popcorn. Go with a proportional fresh fruit instead of a hunk of cake.
  • Don’t completely deny cravings – When a good diet becomes a lifestyle, it’s OK to slide once in a while. Take a day off and enjoy yourself and you will notice the difference when you eat supportively.  Don’t worry about eating too much at a holiday meal or selecting the pie instead of fruit after a special meal. It’s OK to be bad once in a while as long as the regular routine involves smarter, healthier choices.

Drink Lots of Water

Proper hydration is vital for weight loss and maintenance of health. Try to drink plenty of water a day to promote proper health and weight loss, both. Did you know that a lot of people are actually dehydrated and don’t even know it? Fat loss is a two-step process. You have to send your fat cell through the blood stream to burn at the muscle site. Water will definitely help you in this process along with stabilizing your blood sugar.

Get Active

Diet (food intake) is the most important for weight loss, but exercise will enhance your ability to burn calories. Get busy to get the best results with your choice of food intake. Exercise doesn’t have to be boring or “grueling” to be effective though. Just find something that’s fun and gets the heart pumping and go with it.

Fad diets come and go, but the three main ingredients for weight loss remain the same. Make smart food choices, drink plenty of water to keep your system flushed,  and get active and have fun to see results that are likely to last a lifetime. 1. Then, on December 24th, Sean called Asan Hospital to say that all of Big Bang would be coming to visit Jung Eun. Sean, Daesung and Taeyang visited first, around 3PM, and they took pictures and played with the chlnerdi. At 9PM, G-Dragon, TOP and Seungri dropped by and played with Jung Eun. Seungri even promised her to invite her onstage at the next Big Bang concert.

  2. So true! I worry too much too. Also a little time to yourself is not such a bad thing to crave. I am part introvert and every once in a while I just need some time to think and be alone! 😛
