Happy Holidays! After The New Year Are You Doing A Cleanse? Consider One With Me Because…

Happy holidays and Happy New Year! The meaty part of the holidays is here. I hope you’re enjoying the festivities and making the most of your days. The New Year is just around the corner and I’m ready to break into it running… well not literally at least initially. I was thinking with all your parties, celebrations, and good times primarily over after the 1st of the year, it might be a very advantageous time to work in an easy, effective, and jump starting 3 day cleanse following your New Year. What do you say? I’m going for it because I want to show you how easy it is to move forward with your health. I mean…you have to eat anyway don’t you? A great tasting smoothy is easy and benefit loaded!

A 3 day cleanse does NOT have to be complicated, expensive, and a drag, but a 3 day cleanse CAN be empowering, easy, and results-oriented. What are you looking for exactly? Would you like to lose some weight or just feel good from the inside out? Either way, both these outcomes are likely to happen. It’s the perfect time after bringing in the New Year to focus on a measly 3 days to clean your system up a bit and improve your energy levels for 2013. Besides, a jump start is exactly what most people need.

Frankly, I’ve never been a fan of cleansing or detoxifying. I think it is largely over-promoted and unfortunately used to sell products and so called “health foods and supplements.” Our liver naturally detoxifies and seems to do just fine in most cases of ridding ourselves of so called “toxins.” Why do a cleanse then? Because it’s clear that if the liver is not functioning properly fat loss will be difficult. Are you struggling or do you just want to see and feel more results? Unfortunately, I see way too much fat on the majority of us. So, an effective and easy to follow cleanse seems to be just what the doctor ordered to help naturally reverse your accumulated fat you don’t want.

You don’t need supplements to cleanse your body. Your foods can all be purchased at your local grocery store. Even with a cleanse you want whole foods and nutrient dense fruits and vegetables. Yes, your food for the 3 day cleanse is even going to taste good. I wouldn’t recommend anything that doesn’t taste good because I know you wouldn’t eat it anyway! You can take my word for it…years of personal experience. All you need to do is have a blender or a Vitamix, take a shopping trip to your local market or farmer’s market, and pick up these fresh ingredients:

shopping cart food2-3 cucumbers
1 bunch of celery
1/2 dozen lemons
1 bag (lb.) of carrots
6 apples
1 bunch parsley
2 cups of blueberries
1 cup of rasperries
1 mango
1 pineapple
1 avocado
2 cups of nuts (walnuts, pine, cashews, almonds)
2 bananas
2-3 cans or a quart or so of coconut milk or almond milk
3 tbsp. coconut oil
1 cup spinach
1 cup kale or collard greens
3 tomatoes
sea salt
small bunches of cabbage, cauliflower, or broccoli
3 beets
3 tbsp. almond butter (if desired)
ginger and fresh mint (if desired)
1 bulb of garlic (if you can handle it)shopping cart food

That’s it for 3 days! I would combine your favorites in the blender daily. You can obviously add or take away ingredients, but you can see you don’t need any fancy supplements. The above ingredients will supply you with the essentials for 3 days. You will need to blend about 8 cups of raw nuts, fruits, and vegetables a day. The nuts, almond butter, and coconut oil will give you the needed fats. As a typical example for a day combine 3 apples, 1/3 of a pineapple, 1/2 cup of almond or coconut milk, 1-2 cups of broccoli, 3 celery stalks, 2 lemons squeezed, 1/2 cup of nuts (pine, walnuts, or almonds), and some large handfuls of greens (spinach, kale or collard greens). Don’t make it too potent with the greens because you probably won’t want to drink it as a smoothie. Doctor it up and make it taste good for you. Just remember to consume plenty of water daily as this will help with the elimination process to help clear and flush out your toxins…whatever you may have. So many people are actually dehydrated and they don’t even know it.

Remember to ease your way back into typical eating after the 3 days. Normally most people do a good job putting better quality foods in their mouth after a cleanse. That’s good motivation considering the New Year! Take 2 days to implement some light protein back into your diet like: fish, chicken, or some eggs if you like. I would recommend purchasing as many organic ingredients as possible. Also be forewarned this 3 day cleanse is for basically healthy people, so if you are taking certain medications or have a serious medical condition you should consult with your doctor first before starting this program.
